A second-generation martial arts instructor from South Manchester, born into a legacy of discipline, dedication, and community service. With roots stretching back to 1982, Sensei Eddie’s journey is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. From discovering his calling while helping family-run clubs to founding the Wythenshawe Black Belt Academy — now a thriving 8,000 sqft facility offering seven martial arts styles — his story is as inspiring as the students he trains. At WBBA we welcome students of all backgrounds and abilities, from age 5 to 101. Whether you're a complete beginner, a seasoned martial artist, or someone looking for a new way to stay active and empowered — you belong here.
We offer a diverse range of disciplines including Kenpo Karate, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Traditional Ju-Jitsu, Judo, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and the Filipino weapons-based art of Eskrima. Our programs are designed for all skill levels and include specialized classes in Female Self-Defence, focusing on practical techniques to build confidence and ensure personal safety. Don't worry our experienced instructors are here to guide you every step of the way.
Would recommend WBBA to all my friends and family. The kids have come so far since they started and i myself have started doing classes which i can say i was quite nervous about as a dad who's a complete beginner but everyone is so welcoming, polite and professional. 10/10
